This has been considered news since Miro announced on a Twitch stream that, “Ben Carter is lost, he’s gone to the dark side.” But in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reports it’s done – the impressive 22 year old has signed with WWE.

Carter himself teased the news after the clip from Miro was shared around. He posted this video from his collegiate soccer days where he mentions his plan to become a WWE wrestler.

While Carter landed on most of our radars with his recent AEW matches against Ricky Starks and Lee Johnson (or his Impact one with Chris Sabin), his signing with anyone other than WWE would have been a surprise. He trained at Seth Rollins’ Black & Brave Academy, likely as part of his plan to make his dream come true.

Meltzer wrote that he doesn’t know what WWE’s plans are for Carter. Born in the United Kingdom, Carter told Fightful he worked his AEW dates for free in order to not violate his work visa. Whether Triple H will have him debut in NXT UK or push to get his immigration status straightened out for work in the States appears to be undecided at this point.

His affiliation isn’t, though. Welcome to WWE, Ben Carter… hope you survive the experience.
