The TLC 2020 pay-per-view is just around the corner, scheduled to take place on Dec. 20 at WWE ThunderDome. But Bianca Belair is already looking ahead to Royal Rumble 2021 the following month, because that’s the event where a wrestler cements their spot in the WrestleMania main event.
Speaking with Sports Illustrated, she explained that she is preparing to raise her performance to another level in next month’s popular gimmick match:
“I’m preparing physically, I’m preparing mentally, and I am looking to go out and prove myself even more than I did last year. I am definitely excited about the Royal Rumble.”
Belair made a strong first impression on main roster WWE by surviving more than 30 minutes to become the iron woman of the 2020 Royal Rumble match. She plans to do even better in the 2021 rumble match, and hopes it will set the tone for a special year:
“I’m really excited for 2021, and I’m calling it right now—it’s going to be a special year for Bianca Belair to stand out and shine, starting with the Royal Rumble. I didn’t find out I was going to be part of it last year until the night before, and I was still able to go out there and last over 30 minutes. It will be even better this year. Every time I step in the ring, my goal is to show everyone who I am and what I do. I want to win the Royal Rumble and use that as my path straight into WrestleMania.”
Bianca clearly set the bar high with this year’s Royal Rumble match performance, but current betting odds for the 2021 Royal Rumble do not include her name among the top five favorites. How do you think the EST of WWE will fare this time around?
