Devlin’s Return, Knight Debut Match Highlight Another Big NXT Card

Sean Rueter

NXT UK’s Jordan Devlin won the Cruiserweight title at Worlds Collide last January. Then COVID-19 shut most of the world down.

Santos Escobar won a tournament to crown another champion, and has been wearing a purple belt since. Devlin returned to our screens over the summer, and has been calling the Legado Del Fantasma frontman a fraud champ ever since.

All that jawing has been across the pond… until now. The Irishman announced his travel ban’s been lifted, and he’ll be on NXT prime next Wednesday (Mar. 17).

That show will also feature the in-ring debut of the former Eli Drake. While LA Knight was talking to us, he was attacked by Bronson Reed – the man he ensured lost to Cameron Grimes next week. The big Australian probably won’t be Knight’s first opponent, but he does seem to his first feud.

Johnny Gargano’s efforts to turn Austin Theory against Dexter Lumis are still working, and The Way’s resident meathead will face his former captor/friend on next Wednesday. Imperium has been trying to recruit their old Ringkampf ally Timothy Thatcher back into the fold, and Thatcher’s current partner Tommaso Ciampa has been encouraging him to ignore them. They’ll square off in tag action next week. And Leon Ruff has had enough of Isaiah “Swerve” Scott disrespecting him, and kicking hiss ass. They’ll have a singles match on Mar. 17.

Here’s the card so far:

– Jordan Devlin calls out Santos Escobar
– LA Knight’s in-ring debut
– Leon Ruff vs. Isaiah “Swerve” Scott-
– Dexter Lumis vs. Austin Theory
– Tommaso Ciampa & Timothy Thatcher vs. Imperium
