Owen Hart’s passing was a terrible tragedy, and it caused his wife Martha Hart to pull her husband’s name and likeness from all pro wrestling marketing. She did not want WWE making money off Owen Hart’s image after he died at Over The Edge in 1999. Hart’s image hasn’t been immortalized in action figure form for over twenty years, but that recently changed.
Pro Wrestling Tees signed a deal with the Owen Hart Foundation to release merchandise. This came with a new Micro Brawler figure, and it was a very limited edition.
The figure sold out in minutes. Matt Cardona was able to snag one, because of course he was. He tweeted out how it gave him goosebumps to buy an Owen Hart figure after so many years without one.
I legit had goosebumps ordering the first Owen Hart figure in over 20 years! It sold out in minutes. Thanks @owen_foundation, @PWTees, & @DarkSideOfRing for making this a reality! We will be discussing this on the next @majorwfpod! #scratchthatfigureitch
They only made 250 of those $30 figures. They naturally sold out in record time. We’ll have to see if this response causes the Owen Hart Foundation to take advantage of this surge of interest.
If you want one of these figures, then it will cost you. They are already popping up on eBay at VERY inflated secondary market prices. You can see the current listing below.
