It’s been a few weeks since touching base with NWA news, so let’s catch up on NWA current events from around the globe. Nick Aldis and Thunder Rosa have their next title challengers, two new NWA champs have been crowned, and we have an engagement that is Strictly Business.

First things first. If you happened to miss the good news earlier this month, Billy Corgan confirmed plans to bring back NWA Powerrr soon.

In the meantime, NWA has been partnering with United Wrestling Network for weekly PPVs known as Prime Time Live. It started hot with Nick Aldis retaining the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship against Mike Bennett in September. The following week saw Thunder Rosa retain the NWA World Women’s Championship against Priscilla Kelly.

The NWA National Heavyweight Championship and the NWA World Television Championship had the real drama as both titles recently changed hands. Trevor Murdoch was able to achieve his dream through hard work by winning the national belt from Aron Stevens. Murdoch outsmarted the Mongrovian karate black belt by sitting down on a sunset flip attempt to pin Stevens for the 1, 2, 3.

Last night, Pope won the spoils of war against Zicky Dice. The fight went down to the wire, but Pope was able to pull it out to become new TV champ.

The next NWA title match is set for October 27 on Prime Time Live. Thunder Rosa will defend the women’s strap against Serena Deeb.

That contest will be available through PPV outlets and Fite TV (here).

As for Nick Aldis and the Ten Pounds of Gold, 127 Pro Wrestling broke the news that they have booked Aldis to defend against Brian Pillman Jr. on December 10 in Grimsley, TN.

No doubt Aldis will be strictly business against Pillman, but he may have to bolster the ranks of Strictly Business before Powerrr comes back into the fold. Royce Isaacs was granted his release from the NWA.

Isaacs’ next adventure appears to be forming a tag team with Jorel Nelson as the West Coast Wrecking Crew. Enjoy their cheesy throwback video with the classic Predator handshake.

As one member of Strictly Business departs, the bond between two other members solidifies. Thom Latimer and Kamille announced their engagement.

Prime Time Live is available on PPV and Fite TV (here). The weekly PPV airs Tuesdays at 9 pm ET.

Are you happy to see Trevor Murdoch and Pope as NWA champions? Who would you like to see them battle next?
