Last Tuesday (Dec. 1), in a world where Jon Moxley was AEW World champ and we didn’t know Impact was working with All Elite Wrestling in any way, Impact had 3,100 streams on Twitch. On AXS, it was watched by 166,000 people. That was good for a .05 rating among 18 – 49 year olds; 121st among cable originals.
This Tuesday (Dec. 8), with AEW World champ Kenny Omega anchoring the show and wrestling fans all over speculating about the extent of AEW and Impact’s partnership, Impact streams were over 50,000 on Twitch. Overnight cable numbers put the AXS audience at 221,000, with a .08 rating in the under 50 demo. That was good for 96th.
Of course, the big question is how many of the thousands of new viewers Omega & AEW drew Impact can convince to stick around.
That may very well depend on what Kenny & his mentor Don Callis have to say on Dynamite tonight – and how AEW President Tony Khan responds.
