WWE Files Trademark For Recent NXT Signee (wrestlingnews.co)

WWE has filed a new trademark for the name “LA Night.”

The company did so on February 14th under the entertainment services classification with The United States Patent and Trademark Office. It should be noted that when the former Eli Drake first made his promotion debut under this gimmick this past Sunday at the NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day, the spelling of his name was different as it was “Knight”. However, it appears that it will now be “Night.”

Here is the description:

“International Class 041: Wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports via an online community portal

Intent to Use: The applicant has a bona fide intention, and is entitled, to use the mark in commerce on or in connection with the identified goods/services.”

LA Night still has the previous spelling listed on his Twitter account, but he’s likely to change it to the way WWE has filed for.

He had originally been under contract with WWE NXT from October 2013 through May 2014. He then went to Impact Wrestling where he established himself as a star and had been working for the NWA before joining WWE for a second stint.
